I agree with you. A few years ago, I remember Whoopi Goldberg saying she collects black memorabilia. I wouldn't want to be reminded on a daily basis another race's negative conotation of who I am.

What about modern day use of an old stereotype? I saw this in an I-D magazine ad. It was appalling. People were saying it was "artistic expression" and "edgy." I think these stereotypes should never be resurrected, because stereotypical material is not art.

I am Chinese and I was reading a comic the other day, it went something like this: one man looks at another and starts laughing, saying: "Hey, look, this guy is sleeping while standing!" And the other one responses: "I'm Chinese, you!". I didn't find it funny at all..
