Teacher Chops Off 1st Grader's Braid
Can you believe it? Back in mid-December,
a Milwaukee teacher cut off the front braid of
first grader Lamya Cammon. The teacher
claimed Lamya was making too much noise
playing with her beaded braids.
The malicious teacher calls her up to her desk,
tricks her in to asking if she wants candy;
and then takes a scissors and chops off
half Lamya's braid and throws it in the wastepaper
basket.
The class laughs and embarrassed Lamya
goes back to her desk and cries.
The teacher was fined $175 for disorderly
conduct and currently the Milwaukee Public
School District is going through a disciplinary
process with the teacher.
Somebody should cut one side of the teacher's
hair -- and show her what it feels like.
Lamya is now in another teacher's class.
I'm sorry maybe this is an extreme reaction but if this was my child somebody would have to die!!

That was definitely malicious and that teacher should have also been suspended, arrested and served jail time. That was considered assault against a person. She wouldn't be teaching anymore if it happened to my daughter. Black parents should have also protested against her as well!

This is horrendous, how could someone chop off a students' hair irrespective of the reason. Surely kids today are getting a little more rowdy but hey that's no way to discipline a child.

The teacher display of attitude in front of her student was so unacceptable. As a teacher, you must show first respect before your student will respect you. I hope School Management must do some disciplinary actions regarding this matter.

A Milwaukee teacher cut off a first grader's braid after she became frustrated because the student was playing with her hair.
Lamya Cammon has a bad habit of absentmindedly playing with her few dozen braids. The teacher became angry when Lamya continued to play with the hair after she was asked to stop.
The teacher then called Lamya to her desk and cut off one of her braids in front of her classmates.

No doubt, teaching first-graders--especially the distracted or distracting ones--is a very frustrating job. Especially in a fraught economy, the budget constraints and increased class size are enough to stress even the most placid minds. But what is striking about this incident is the clear lack of rationality that led to a slow, cruel act. To call a child up in front of peers, cut her hair off, and send her back to her seat takes a good amount of time--time which, one would think, a teacher capable of rational thought could get a grip on her emotions and put the scissors down.

I can't open ur link but it depends on the grade of your hair. Thinner & straighter hair will be harder to hold a braid.

Most states require a bachelors in education to teach k-12. It would be beneficial for you to minor in English. You will also have to take a teacher certification test for English, you can take the Praxis, which works in all states, or you can take the education test specific to your state. It is a long test, and they only say pass or fail, so I suggest studying up on it a good bit.

Darlin your too young to be wanting to look "hott" ha ha JK and also you dont NEED to look hott...you want to. ha. any ways keep in mind that its spring now so the rules changes. I have a similar style to you (except im not a HUGE fan of neon but i have friends who are.--im in 10th grade so i kno the jazz on this stuff ha) shop at places cheaper than AE and aero like Khol's, Gordman's, Ross, Daisy Exchange.

Why not do wet sets instead? Your hair does not have to be straight to be cute. And the rain water and sweat can make your hair break off if you let it dry in your hair. Sweat contains salt which is drying, rain water (depending on where you live) is polluted.

When the shock of what happened hit me, the elevator cable broke, and it began to plummet. I had been flung to the roof, and the body of my grandma was being flung about, with her spine breaking, her waist down were inside the elevator, and waist up hanging through the panel. I woke up right before the elevator crashed into the ground.
