Let's face it...Sisters have had hair issues for decades.

If we weren't ashamed of our hair we would not have to be parading around in fake hair.

Sisters have adopted a white standard of beauty as their own. Sisters are running away from their true beauty.

Of course, one can be beautiful with unnatural hair...yet there exists a deep, hurtful shame that many like yourself are afraid to face!

I think this entire blog is kinda stupid. i understand embracing yourself but who are you to say that because we straighten our hair or otherwise we are not beautiful. Beauty is personal. Natural beauty works for some and not for others. Its different. Nappy/kinky hair may work for one sister and not for another. So this is a personal choice not a necessary decision. Weave is not the devil or the end of the world. Its a personal enhancement and white and black people are using it.

Hey, that's what I thought too when I googled what to do with afro hair/how to maintain it! There is no maintaining or transitioning, that is a part of all the hogwash. Wash your hair, comb (if u want) and go. Why do we want to come out looking like anything but what we really do look like. You know what, i'm gonna chop off my inch long hair into barely there and forget there was ever anything like "hair care". And, how can we hide/reject what our lovin Father gave us? its too wrong, waaay wrong. I wish we could have anti-oppression day when every black person chopped off their hair down to a minimum. What would that do to our present state of mind in the world? great things ofcourse! We need to go out of our invisible slave chains and break free. And ladies, if that fake brother wants long silky hair to run his hands through, give him $5 and directions to the wigs wigs wigs store!

I think this blog is great as it exposes the ugly truth behind what black women think is beautiful. I've been 100% natural for over 2 years and love every day of it. I have people coming up to me to compliment me and ask my advice on how to style or transition.
It would be great if hollywood and the fashion industry could recognize our individual beauty rather than view an afro as an editorial to add edge to a photo.
And Beyonce looks beautiful with her own hair. Thanks for the pics!
