Rapunzel's Daughter:  What Women's Hair Tell Us
About Women's Lives
by Rose Weitz (courtesty of Amazon.com)

Ms. Weitz in her book explains that in the white community a slender woman is considered attractive regardless of her race or HAIR.

She goes on to say that in the Black community a woman with long, straight hair is considered attractive regardless of race or WEIGHT.

...SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT.

Well, what an interesting question that your raise!

It is my understanding that some Latinas identify themselves as white...some Latinas identify themselves as black...& some identify themselves as Latina.

As an African-American woman looking from the outside, it appears that the Black latinas are pushed aside.

I said this to say, just passing through Novellas, Spanish talk TV shows, etc. Where is the black Latina sister?

    Is this deliberate?

And as an added note, Latin young ladies never seem to cut their hair...Many, many keep their hair long....Can you enlighten me about
the latina and her hair issues?
