Lace-Front Wigs

The Rage -- The Lace-Front Wig is the
new rage for many Black women. It was
made famous by Tyra & Beyonce.
RuPaul wore the wigs years ago.
It was originally created for cancer patients
and women with alopecia.
Here, again, the natural hair is hidden
underneath the wigs.
It has lace fronts that are glued to your
hairline to look like the fake hair is actually
growing out of your head.

Here is Beyonce with a lace-front wig.
See all the meshing that's part of the wig.

And here's Beyonce with a lace-front that
went out of control. It looks like a burn.
The real deal is that the glue is buckling.

There are even lace-front wigs for
locked hair.
What is happening to one's real
hair hidden from the sun underneath
all that wigging?
I had no idea that the lace came down that far on the forehead. The technique is for professional hair stylists who know how to blend make up. I would be so paranoid to let anyone close enough to see the texture of the lace on my forehead. Can HD tv pick up the texture, if so a lot of people are in trouble.

I had no idea it was glued to your forehead. I don't think I'd be very comfortable with myself if I was wearing what amounts to a prosthetic, everyday of my life. And yes, you have to commit to the wig because you can't go from a head full of thick luscious honey-blond strands to your own mistreated tresses two-weeks later. The jig would be up, as they say. And the whole point of the lace front is to fool people into thinking it's growing out of your own head.
