Negro Newspaper Claimed Because of Kinky Hair - Even God Discriminated Against Us

W. Calvin Chase was founder & Editor of the Negro
Newspaper The Washington BeeEstablished in 1882.
It lasted 40 years. (It's motto:
Honey for Friends,
Stings for Enemies) Chase died in 1921.

Now, in his March 5, 1910, editorial according to
the book, Blue Veins and Kinky Hair by Obiagele Lake
-- Chase suggested God discriminated against
Black women when he gave them kinky hair.

Chase's editorial went on to say:

        "
We say straighten your hair, ladies beautify yourselves, make

aggravating, reclusive, elusive, shrinking kinks long flowing

tresses that may be coiled or curled or puffed to suit Dame

Fashion's latest millinery creations, even if it takes every

ounce of hair straightening preparation that can be manufactured

...even God, who discriminated against our women on this

hair proposition, knows that straight hair beautifies a woman.

Yes, straighten your hair and do it at once."

...and our internal hair wars continues into the
21st century...

this man must have said this at a time when blackmen couldn't marry other races coz if he lived in our present times I reckon he would not be married to a black woman what with us being 'discriminated by the creator' and all-since he was black it means he thought he was discriminated by the creator too...ifigure this is how some blackmen still think& feel the times allow them 2act on their prejudice against themselves &black sisters are having difficulty finding a good black man. What is the standard of beauty for alot of our brothers? I doubt the beaty standard is'shrinking kinks' ebony chocolate skin most brothers like girls with long straight hair &light skin...but that is an exception to the rule when it comes 2black females most black women are well...black.in India Aries song brown skin she says'ican't tell where yours begins ican't tell where mine ends'-it speaks of one partner being the extension of the other.stay with me im going somewhere with this, black people were taught for so long to loathe themselves every other race was invited to join in on that-everything about being black was associated with negativity and something to detest unruly,barberic-is it possible that at a subconscious level this type of black man feels more acceptable or 'human' when the extension or mirror image of himself is anything but black?
or if black then atleast black with tweaking to a less offensive extent? black but not quite as 'unruly or barberic'-apparently some victims start to identify with their abusers and continue to abuse themselves even when the abuser has left-
frankly a lot of issues that sisters have are inherited from insecurities our men have about their place in creation are they who God said Adam was in that garden are they infact to rule and dominate when they have been slaves?a byword for reproach for so long-is that mentality still within some brothers are they rulers that were forced to live as slaves and now think as such? I have truly seen princes walking barefoot while slaves ride on horses in the thinking of present times....if the sun seizes to shine will the moon continue to function? all of creation is a marriage our sun has failed to shine(some black brothers) how will the moon continue to function(black sisters) just as the moon reflects the light of the sun,a woman reflects the light of the man she was created to be a helpmeet to...if the light of our sun's has become the darkness that is ignorance of how powerful they are how will the moon know its place that is why sisters are displaced...im not trying to be deep im just saying there are systems that govern all of creation mess up one and the domino effect follows...there is seed time and harvest time...the seed that was planted in the ground that is Adam(since man was made from the soil) was a lie,how then will the truth be found in Eve who came from his side? the Lye(lie) runs deep...but like I said im not trying to be deep,so before I get there I'll stop.
