1939 Vintage Poster
Here is a 1939 poster from the Negro Industrial Fair in New York City.
The models' hair is pressed and curled more than likely using a
marcel curling iron (above) and pressing combs (below)
And you can see the heavy pressing oil and
hair pomade that was used. Similar to
the Lucky Brown Pressing Oil and La Jean Full Dress
Hair Pomade (above). All this to alter our natural hair to
look like this:

I believe so that woman's health is her hair because it is the only thing that can make you beautiful. What I mean is that, this is a good asset for a lady to have an awesome and attractive hair.
