Black Women Hate Their Hair!
When are sisters going to start loving their
natural hair?
We do everything to our hair except wear
our hair with pride. How can you love yourself
and hate your hair? It's not possible.
Many Black women have not worn their
natural kinky hair for any reasonable
period of time to form a relationship
with their hair.
I know one sister with semi-permed hair
(code for the kinks were taking over)
that slicked her hair back as best as she
could and slapped a shiny, straight-textured,
no-match ponytail on the back of her head.
Talk about ridiculous. But it gets worse.
Girlfriend sleeps with ponytail attached tied
down with a night scarf.
Clearly, sister-friend has serious issues about
her hair and her identity...and the sad thing
about it; she's not alone in her confusion.

they say you hate yourself, false pride, not job oriented nor career, its ugly, you ugly if you have it and dont be a "darkie" oh lawd!! all this too say, it is worth your health to simply be as all other races love and support their women in their borned status, why the hell cant we?

Thanks for the post their are women who love their natural hair and are making the transition from relaxed hair to natural hair. But these women are using weaves/hair extensions-but they must value maintaining their own hair while wearing the extensions. It makes a big difference during the removal process as well.
The key is to enable your hair to grow thick and healthy-if not this really could be a source of hair loss,hair damage,balding.
But another issue is that most of the hairdressers or even African braider's are not trained in the Take Down Removal system or technique of taking these hair styles out-so basically bonding glue is ripped out the hair, tangled or matted roots of a sew-in weave are yanked with a comb(sooooo painful); keratin bonds from fusion extensions pull the hair out when sliding the glue out. Dreadlocks are just cut out!
We see it everyday and we get calls everyday for solutions-from mistakes hairdressers have made as well.
We just want to keep natural hair alive and strong

Okay , Maybe not every black person who decides to perm or get extensions on their hair hates themselves? I just like having more options with my hair . I don 't always want to have natural hair all the time . I don't hate my natural hair. I don 't hate being black nor do I hate myself. I just like having more options and being able to get more creative. I like being able to get long or short hair. I don 't do it to be more white. I don't want to be whtie at all. i am not ashamed of myself , color, hair, heritage, or background. I simply choose to perm my hair because I LIKE THE WAY IT LOOKS. Nothing else. No ulterior motive. I do not hate myself. Its nothing special.
